My heart breaks…

This story has been all over the news lately. A young 20 something Australian tried smuggling some drugs out of Singapore several years ago and was hanged for it yesterday. Obviously, it was an idiotic thing to do and he does deserve some sort of punishment, but death? Really? I only agree with the death penalty in the most extreme of situations, and sometimes I even hesitate then. This entire situation just makes me sick. Talk about the punishment not matching the crime.
