Shake’s/Sheridan’s Showdown 2007

Even though my sister Meredith and I had many disagreements growing up, recently there have been a few notable things we have agreed on wholeheartedly. The Nintendo Wii and frozen custard at Shake’s are both incredibly awesome. I have recently moved to the Kansas City area, and my experiences here may cause us to revisit our disagreeable days.
Jennifer and I had a craving for frozen custard the other day, and looked online for the closest Shake’s. Unfortunately, the closest one was 5.7 miles away, so we decided to try out a place called Sheridan’s we had seen earlier that day that was a mere 3 miles away from our place. It was awesome. While I still think Shake’s custard is awesome, I think Sheridan’s might be better.
In order to determine just who makes the better custard, I am planning on holding a showdown between these two places the next time Meredith and Henry grace us with their presence. I hope that if Meredith and I come to different conclusions on which establishment makes the better custard we will be able to put it behind us and agree to disagree.

I’m definitely up to the showdown! Don’t worry Mom, we’re both adults now (which means we know more colorful names to call each other when we argue – hee hee)
I think we need to decide criteria for this showdown. For instance, I ALWAYS get a concrete with Raspberries, cone dip (which hardens into strips of chocolate), and pecans. I will need to compare the same thing at each establishment and that might not be your favorite. Do we also need to sample one like item?
Jer – I owe you for all of our disagreements! I was able to develop my negotiation skills, which are paying off for me every day.
I must say, Sheridan’s website is a little cooler than Shake’s. Don’t let that influence your taste buds!

Perhaps we should just get a plain concrete from each location so that our preference for different toppings does not hinder our comparison.
