A Rare Moment

I am, in this moment, getting to experience a very rare yet wonderful pleasure. I have enjoyed an afternoon alone! Last night, Jeremiah and I both had outings. I went to dinner with my MOPS group and Jeremiah went to dinner with our small group. We didn’t get the kids in bed until 10pm, so they have been very tired today. I put them both down for a nap. Breckin hasn’t napped (unless sick) since he turned 2. So, I have never had the both kids napping thing. Serious bummer. Today, I made Breckin lay down, hoping for just an hour of peace. I assumed he wouldn’t fall asleep and I would get him up after an hour. Well, much to my joy, he did fall asleep and I have now had over 2 hours of a quiet house. Even Boz has curled up for a much needed nap. I have folded laundry, had a quiet time, read and now I am posting. While I love the alone time with Breckin in the afternoons, it is nice to have an afternoon alone on occasion. I am looking forward to next fall/spring when Breckin is in preschool in the afternoons for two days a week. I will take him to school, put Arwyn down for a nap and have 3 hours to myself. Before kids, I took moments like this for granted. What a silly woman I was back then.
