“We need passports.”
September 26, 2008
Were some of the first words out of Jeremiah’s mouth when he came home today. For a while now we have been wondering if we would be heading over to Israel so Jeremiah can do some work for his aunt and uncle’s company, Megavoice. He has already done quite a bit for them, but will now be doing a project that actually requires his presence in Israel for a short time, maybe a week. When he mentioned this a month or so ago my immediate response was, “Well, if you are going to Israel, so am I. But we are leaving the kids with grandparents.” I cannot pass up such an opportunity. I have never been out of the country, not even to Mexico. I have been to both US coasts, but I have always desired to travel a bit farther than that. So, at the end of November we will have that opportunity and I am so excited. I cannot say my immediate family is as excited as I am. They seem nervous about it, as if they are afraid we will instantly be blown to pieces when we step on Israeli soil. But, in the words of Beth Moore, “Is there a better place in the world to be blown up?” I am not worried. We have several family members that live there and know that Israel is a relatively safe place to be. I am looking forward to spending time in that part of the world in November. More accurately, I am looking forward to shopping in that part of the world.
