Conversations with Breckin: Mommy can’t cook!

The other day I made Breckin a grilled cheese sandwich, his all-time favorite. Here is what he said.
Me: Breckin, come and eat lunch. Mommy made you a cheese sandwich.
Breckin: I don’t want a cheese sandwich. You burn cheese sandwiches. I don’t want one!
It is true. I burn them…a lot. I always forget that I am making them and end up burning one side. In my defense though, I have never actually fed him a burnt one. I always make him a new one. Geez!

I read a facebook story recently on a friend’s wall. Her friend’s 8 year old son was sitting at the kitchen table doing his homework when the smoke alarm went off and without missing a beat he yelled, “Hey mom, dinners ready!”
